Barron County New Highway Facilities Tour
October 24, 2022 @ 4:30 pm
Have you heard about the new Barron County highway facilities? This $25 million project was started almost three years ago, and is currently $4.3 million to $4.5 million over budget. There will be a tour of the new facilities on Monday, Oct. 24, at 4:30 p.m. While this tour is open to the public and you are welcome to attend, it is technically a meeting of the Barron County board of supervisors so you will not be able to ask questions except through a supervisor (click here for a list of supervisors by district; click here to get a list of all elected officials who represent you — including the name of your county board supervisor — on myvote.wi.gov). Meet in front of the old highway shop at 260 N. 7th Street in Barron; parking is available near the admin building or across the road. Note: The full Barron County Board of Supervisors has scheduled a special meeting for Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 5:00 p.m. to discuss and vote on what to do about the facilities’ budget overrun. There will be a public comment period during that meeting.
